Darrell Fandrich and his wife Heather developed a key balancing technique and an Excel spreadsheet for displaying and refining touchweight over ten years ago. This spreadsheet was the basis for a standalone program -- the original Fandrich Keyweight program -- which was created by Nate Foss. Darrell designed the WB hardware (table, tower, rest, etc.)
Heather Fandrich specified many of the user features in both the original Keyweight and new Weightbench programs, and wrote the user instructions for Weightbench. She has corrected the keyweighting on more than 300 pianos.
John Rhodes recognized the advantage of sliding weights over discrete weights for measuring touchweight. He created the prototype mushroom weight set and a calculation program in Excel which utilized sliding weights.
Nate Foss took John's equations, adapted them to the original Fandrich Keyweight program, and created a supurb user interface for the new Weightbench program. He added many useful visual features.
